Written minutes of meetings are accessible by members of the public therefore, if you speak at a meeting, your name will be recorded in the minutes.
At meetings that are webcast, if you speak at the meeting, you may be filmed.

Petitions are accessible by all members of the public therefore, if you have created a petition, your name may be published.

The Openness of Local Government Regulations 2014 gives a right to members of the press and public to use modern technology and communication methods such as filming, audio-recording, blogging and tweeting to report the proceedings of the meetings of the council.
If you create an e-petition on the Council’s website, you will be required to provide personal information so that we can contact you about your petition. The information will only be used for this purpose, although we may need to pass your details to the relevant department to enable them to respond to the issues you raise.

The Council will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

We may share your personal information in accordance with data protection legislation where applicable. This may include, with Councillors or third parties such as law enforcement agencies for the prevention and detection of crime.
Copies of agendas and minutes are kept as a permanent historical record. Should your data be no longer needed it will be securely and confidentially destroyed or disposed of the data in line with retention schedules.
