The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has a large forces population, with Windsor being the home of the Coldstream Guards and Welsh Guards.

Emergencies

The Joint Emergency Planning Unit (JEPU) coordinates the council's readiness and ability to respond to emergencies and supports the community in the recovery from incidents.

Grants to Voluntary Organisations

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead supports non-profit making voluntary organisations through its grants to voluntary organisations funding scheme.

Garden in Bloom

The Garden in Bloom awards scheme started in 1992 to acknowledge the important contribution private gardens can make to the appearance of neighbourhoods.

Community right to bid : Assets of community value

Eligible local organisations and groups, including town and parish councils, may nominate a building or parcels of land to be listed as an Asset of Community Value (an ACV) to help preserve it for the benefit of the community.
