  • Provision for us to process this data is provided for in the: 
  • Highways Act 1980;
  • Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) Regulation 1989

How do we collect information from you

The personal information we process is provided by you directly either by post, telephone, in person or electronically by email or by completing an online form on the Council’s website. If you speak to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Customer Service Centre, then information may also be collected when you speak to our customer service representative.

What type of information is collected from you

We currently collect and process the following information in order to issue you with a license. This includes: your name, address, contact details including email address and telephone number. We will collect your company details if applicable and any other additional details required to process the application.

How we use the information you have provided

The information is collected to process applications for highway licences and respond to requests for information.

Who has access to the information about you

Members of the Commissioning: Communities section have access to this information, along with authorised used of the JADU Customer Relationship Management system.

Who we may share your information with

Depending on the nature of the enquiry, we may need to provide your information to the following:

  • Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Conservation team
  • Town Centre Managers
  • Ward Councillors relevant to your application
  • Royal Borough Fire and Rescue Service
  • Thames Valley Police

How long we store your information

Data will not be kept longer than is necessary. License details are securely disposed of 6 years after the license has expired.
