Lawful basis for processing the information
General Data Protection Regulation Article 6(1)(e) – processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.
We also rely on the Flood and Water Management Act, 2010 to provide these services to you.
How we collect information
You will submit your personal information to us using either an online form or paper form provided to you.
What information is collected
We will collect the following information from you:
- The address of the property impacted;
- Photographs and/or video footage of the flooding.
How we use the information provided
We are collecting this data to allow us to develop and maintain a record of instances of internal and external flooding. This data will help inform us where flooding is taking place and will allow us to assess areas of high risk of flooding.
Who has access to the information about you
Our Flooding team and the planning team.
Who we may share your information with
We will share your information with Environment Agency, Thames Water or other risk management authorities. Sharing of your data will only take place for the purposes of managing the risk of flooding.
How long we store your information
Historic flood data is retained indefinitely.
