How we collect information from you
Personal data is supplied by service users electronically via the council’s public access system.
What information is collected from you
We are provided with name, telephone number and email address.
How we use the information you have provided
The information provided is stored on the council’s secure cloud based database system. Once registered you are able to make representation on a current planning application. Your name and address will be listed on the comments page of the selected application.
Your personal details will be recorded on the council’s planning database, Uniform, and a copy of your comments will be stored in the council’s document management system. A copy of the comments can be viewed via the public access system.
The council comply with UK Data Protection Act 2018 and will redact telephone numbers and email addresses prior to publication. Your name and address will be available for public access as part of the Planning process.
You are also able to track selected planning applications and we will use your email address provided to notify you of any change to the status of the selected planning application.
Who has access to the information about you
The personal details you provide as part of registration are available to Council’s IT staff.
If you make representation on a planning application the details provided are available to Planning and Internal staff. Your name and address will be available for public access as part of the Planning process.
Who we may share your information with
Personal names and addresses are available on the council’s website and available to all.
Contact details and any further information supplied are stored on the council’s Uniform database and can be accessed by the Local Authority Planning staff and council services as below:

- Highways.
- Building Control.
- Customer Contact centre.
- Flooding/Drainage.
How long we store your information
The council maintain an accurate record of all planning applications and associated documents which will permanently remain on the council’s Planning database (Uniform) system and be available to the public on the council’s website.
