See if the Guildhall is the right venue for you

A unique heritage backdrop for your wedding

The Windsor Guildhall is a unique heritage setting for weddings offering a real ‘wow factor’ for you and your guests.

We host weddings and civil partnerships twelve months of the year, Monday to Saturday from 10am–4pm.

Ceremonies outside of these times can be accommodated but are subject to the availability of the Royal Borough registrar team.

We have a lower hire rate for ceremonies taking place Monday to Thursday, Friday and Saturdays are a higher rate. Bank Holidays and Sundays are also available by request, additional fees apply.

What we can host

  • we can host your ceremony,
  • a ceremony and a drinks reception,
  • a ceremony and your wedding breakfast or
  • a combination which works for you.

We are a Grade I listed building which means that we are unfortunately unable to allow dancing in the Council Chamber, however we work closely with local hotels within walking distance who may be able to host a disco for you.

Ceremony location

Ceremonies take place in the magnificent Council Chamber which can accommodate up to 100 guests. Our flexible seating arrangements mean that the Council Chamber provides a stunning backdrop whether you are hosting a smaller, intimate ceremony with a handful of friends or family, or are planning an event with a larger guest list.

The Chamber is full of unique heritage features including royal portraits from the last five centuries. With a high ceiling and large sash windows, this room is flooded with natural daylight and lit by stunning chandeliers on loan to us from the current monarch.

Guildhall Corn Market

Windsor Guildhall

Underneath the building is an area known as the Corn Market with elegant pillars which provide shelter on those days when the weather takes a turn for the worse.

Overlooking Windsor High Street, it provides the perfect space for guests to sip champagne or to watch the iconic Changing of the Guard ceremony as the guards march past on their way to Windsor Castle (selected days).
