Lawful basis for processing personal information

General Data Protection Regulation Article 6(1)(a) – the data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes. 
General Data Protection Regulation Article 6(1)(e) processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.

Local Government Act 1999

Where we have collected special category data, we rely upon the following condition under the UK GDPR: Article 9(2)(g) (a) the processing is necessary for reasons of substantial public interest on the basis of Section 10(3) and para 8 (equality of opportunity or treatment), Part 2 Schedule 1, Data Protection Act 2018.

How we may collect personal information

Personal information may be collected by phone, in person, digitally including email and upon completion and return of a Referral Consent Form online. 

Categories of personal information

We may process your name, address, email address, contact number(s) and your referral data which may also include special category data, such as details of any health conditions. 

How we use personal information 

Your personal information may be processed to refer you to support services and may be processed to help identify areas for improvement and implement changes to the Think Family programme.

RBWM Council employees.

Who we may share personal information with 

We may share you personal information with third party service providers and agencies including, DASH (Drugs and Alcohol support hub), Google Docs, Cranstoun and law enforcement agencies in accordance with data protection legislation.  

How long we store personal information 

We store personal information for no longer than twelve months until it is anonymised.
