Lawful basis for processing information

General Data Protection Regulation Article 6(1)(a) – the data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes. 

General Data Protection Regulation Article 6(1)(e) processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.

Local Government Act 1999

Where we have collected special category data, we rely upon the following condition under the UK GDPR: Article 9(2)(g) (a) the processing is necessary for reasons of substantial public interest on the basis of Section 10(3) and para 8 (equality of opportunity or treatment), Part 2 Schedule 1, Data Protection Act 2018.

How we collect information

Personal information is collected once you complete the online survey.

Categories of information

Your name, address data, ward area, gender, age, ethnicity, health data and email address.

How we use the information provided

Your personal information is anonymised and processed to help identify areas for improvement and implement changes.

Where you have provided your explicit consent, your personal information is processed to enter you into competitions such as a prize draw. 

Who has access to the information about you

RBWM Council employees including the Communications Team.

Who we may share your information with Councillors. 

How long we store your information

We store your personal information for no longer than 12 months until it is anonymised. Where you have provided your consent to enter into a prize draw, you can opt out at any time by emailing communications@rbwm.gov.uk.
