How we collect information
The RBWM Public Health Team utilises the latest data and evidence to inform the design of our health promotion services. We understand that, alongside this, we also need to gather views from residents and professionals who work with residents, to fully understand health needs.
These surveys will help us to gain better insight into the type of support that will be most beneficial to residents.
Information we collect
We are running a two very similar surveys for 1) residents and 2) professionals in frontline services as part of a Kickstart Your Health campaign.
The surveys aim to help us understand how we can better help people to improve their health. Findings will be used to inform the design of our local health promotion services.
We ask for details on your current health behaviours in relation to smoking, alcohol, diet and exercise; whether you use our existing services; and your preferences for how you would like to access support with improving your health.
The personal data we collect from residents is your postcode, gender identity, age, disability status, whether there are children or young people aged under 18 years within your household, your employment status, ethnicity, sexual orientation and whether or not you identify as a transgender person.
We do not request personal data in the professionals’ survey. Instead, we ask professionals to state their current job role type.

How we use the information provided
Survey responses will be used alongside local health data and national evidence, to inform the design of our health improvement services.
We do not use personal data to identify respondents. Instead, we use this information to understand whether we have heard views from a diverse range of residents and whether the preferences for support differ across our population.
Who has access to the information about you
Personal data will not be shared outside of the Berkshire East Public Health team.
Who we may share your information with
Personal data will not be shared any further than the Berkshire East Public Health team, who will be carrying out the analysis of findings. Anonymised survey results will be shared across the council and with our stakeholders in the NHS Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and the Frimley Health and Care Integrated Care System (ICS).
How long we store your information
Your personal data will be retained by the Berkshire East Public Health team for one year from the date you complete the survey via the RBWM Together Platform.
