Please be aware it is illegal to start work without notifying us first.

Already started work? Apply for a Regularisation Certificate

If you started or completed work without getting building regulations approval you must now apply (there will be a charge).

You can only apply for this certificate for work that has been carried out since 11 November 1985.

Please read the guidance notes and checklist on the Legislation website prior to applying for a regularisation certificate.

You will need to fill in the application form below and submit it with copies of any plans, calculations and specifications that you may have and also any records of the work to date such as photos, delivery notes etc.

The regularisation charge is equivalent to 150% of the net building notice charge.  Please note that no VAT is payable on an unauthorised work/regularisation application. The regularisation fee is non-refundable.

Following submission of your application, you should contact us to arrange site inspections.

Please be aware that you may be required to open up or expose certain elements of the work in order that we can assess compliance with the Building Regulations.

Remedial works may be required following our inspection(s).

Once we are satisfied that all of the works which have been applied for satisfy the minimum Building Regulation requirements applicable at the time of the construction, a regularisation certificate will be issued.

We are no longer able to accept applications through the Planning Portal please apply using the online forms or contact us on 01628 796915 if you require any assistance.
