Following work to the Broadway site, the Royal Borough has granted the Christmas wish of many local people and businesses with the new car park behind the Nicholson’s Shopping Centre. Bringing glad tidings, and 100 new parking spaces, for borough shoppers wanting to park closer to the shopping centre and other retailers.
The new surface level car park will be run by Green Parking for the initial period of a year and conveniently provides those parking direct access into the shopping centre and out on to the high street.
Council Leader, Cllr Simon Werner, said: “Providing a much-needed boost to local retailers in the run up to the festive season, and fighting for the many residents who told me they wanted parking spaces closer to the shopping centre has been a priority.
“It’s taken real effort, so it’s fantastic to see it open ahead of Christmas, and already being used by festive shoppers.”
