Grants or guarantees
The International Partner Towns Committee of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead may give financial aid, by way of grant or guarantee, to any individual, group or voluntary body whose geographical base is within the boundary of the Royal Borough, to assist in partner towns activities with the Royal Borough's twin towns of Bad Godesberg, Frascati, Goslar, Kortrijk, Neuilly-sur-Seine and/or Saint Cloud.
Generally, there shall be a presumption in favour of providing financial aid to meet the costs of hosting twinning initiatives and events to take place in the Royal Borough, usually involving individuals and groups from the twin towns. However, applications for financial assistance to participate in partner towns activities in the partner towns will be considered - in particular, for pump-priming or new initiatives.
All applications for financial assistance must be submitted to the Treasurer at the address below. The Treasurer will submit the applications to the International Partner Towns Committee for determination.
Applications for financial assistance from a group or voluntary body must be accompanied, where appropriate:
- by a copy of the organisation's Income and Expenditure Account and Balance Sheet for the previous accounting year,
- a budget projection of the income and expenditure expected in relation to the initiative or event for which the application is made.
- Applications from an individual must be accompanied by a similar budget projection.
Following the decision of the International Partner Towns Committee on applications for financial assistance, payment will be made by the Treasurer.
Recipients of grants or guarantees provided by the International Partner Towns Committee may be asked to submit:
- an income and expenditure account, after the event has taken place, demonstrating how the assistance has been utilised.
Recipients of grants or guarantees from the International Partner Towns Committee are asked to acknowledge such contributions in all press coverage, promotion or publicity relating to the initiative or event for which the financial assistance was given.
An application for a grant or guarantee must relate to an individual event or function only and any surplus arising from such event or function must be returned to the Treasurer with the income and expenditure account.
Grants or guarantees will be assessed on the reasonable costs of the initiative or event.
Retrospective applications and applications from other statutory authorities in the Royal Borough that have the power to precept will not be considered.
