Single person discount

All empty properties that are unfurnished are no longer entitled to a discount.

Disabled person

If your property is the main residence of someone who is substantially and permanently disabled, you may be able to claim a reduction on your council tax bill.

Student discount

You may be entitled to a council tax reduction if you meet certain criteria.

Carer - council tax discount

A full council tax bill is based on at least two adults being resident in a property.

Severely mentally impaired

Where a property is occupied, a full council tax bill is based on at least two adults being resident.

Self contained annex

You may be entitled to a council tax reduction if you meet certain criteria.

Care workers

A full council tax bill is based on at least two adults being resident in a property.

18 and 19 year olds at or left school

A full council tax bill is based on at least two adults being resident in a property.

Apprentices and youth trainees

A full council tax bill is based on at least two adults being resident in a property.

Member of a religious community

A full council tax bill is based on at least two adults being resident in a property.

Resident in a hospital or care home

A full council tax bill is based on at least two adults being resident in a property.
