RBWM Support helpline

Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead have a support line for local residents offering support to people from Ukraine.

The helpline is open Monday – Friday 9am - 5.30pm, the numbers are: 07766 256659.

Barnardo’s free helpline to support Ukrainian families

Barnardo’s has set up the Ukrainian Support Helpline. The helpline is available to anyone fleeing the conflict in Ukraine. 

  • Barnardo’s free helpline is 0800 148 8586 and is staffed by English, Ukrainian and Russian speakers.
  • The helpline is open Monday – Friday - 10am – 8pm and Saturday, 10am – 3pm. 
  • A dedicated email address ukrainiansupport@barnardos.org.uk and webpage have been set up for those assisting with the Ukraine response

Free travel for Ukrainians

National Rail

From Friday 18 March 2022, the Rail Delivery Group has announced that they are offering free travel to Ukrainian nationals travelling to the UK on National Rail services, to help them get to a safe place.  

To make use of this scheme, Ukrainians will need to show a Ukrainian passport and a boarding pass or ticket showing their arrival into the UK. The offer is valid across all train operators in England, Scotland and Wales, and they will have 48 hours from arrival in the UK to complete their journey. 

They will also be able to use London Underground and Docklands Light Railway services if their journey requires them to travel between London national rail stations.

Arriva

Arriva are offering three months free travel to Ukrainian refugees.

They must email: customerservicesmidlands@arriva.co.uk and they will need to say the region of travel, number of adults and children required; a picture of their passport page and address.

Reset launches Homes for Ukraine matching and training service

Reset Communities and Refugees. New national matching and training service launched in support of the Homes for Ukraine scheme for people who don’t know a named Ukrainian. Run by a charity that is supported by DLUHC to essentially bring together refugees with those offering properties. 

Safe Refuge

Safe Refuge (Vita.Network) have created a collection of practical and downloadable resources for refugees, hosts, host-communities, healthcare professionals, and advocates.

The Sanctuary Foundation

The foundation are offering support to Ukrainian Refugees arriving in the UK. See their website for more information.  

Open Arms Charity
