Blind Veterans UK
Blind Veterans UK is a charity dedicated to providing free, lifelong support and services for veterans with severe sight loss, no matter when they served or how they lost their sight. The charity has helped 35,000 ex-service men and women and their families discover an independent life beyond sight loss. The charity is running a campaign “No One Alone” to raise awareness of the wide range of services on offer.

Combat Stress
Combat Stress is a mental health charity which works with veterans and members of the Reserve Forces.
The Army Families Federation (AFF)
The AFF is independent of the Army and offers confidential advice on a range of welfare issues including money matters and family life.
The MOD Army
The MOD army provides help on a range of welfare issues including deployment support for families, legal assistance and a dedicated Forcesline for confidential guidance.
The Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA)
SSAFA provides information on social, family and financial issues to anyone that is currently serving or has ever served in the Army, Navy or RAF, and their families.
Veterans UK
Veterans UK provide a range of services including:
- A veterans advice helpline
- A welfare service that will provide a dedicated caseworker to assist veterans and their families
- support to war pensioners and war widow(ers).
The Royal British Legion (RBL)
The RBL provides support to people who are serving and have served in the Armed Forces, their dependants and carers. They also assist with obtaining immediate needs grants.

Advantage Card
You can get fantastic discounts at a range of attractions, retailers, restaurants, council services, leisure activities including Windsor Castle (free entry with yellow advantage card), Legoland, Savill Garden, borough leisure centres, car parks and health and beauty.
The Career Transition Partnership (CTP)
The Career Transition Partnership (CTP) is the Ministry of Defence working with Right Management. Leave the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force or the Royal Marines at any rank and you can benefit from resettlement support, career transition advice and training opportunities. We’re the official provider of Armed Forces resettlement.
The Maidenhead Primary Care Network
This is a collaborative project involving the following GP’s:
- Claremont and Holyport Surgeries,
- Cookham Medical Centre,
- Cordwallis Road Surgery,
- Linden Medical Centre,
- Redwood House Surgery,
- Rosemead Surgery,
- Ross Road Medical Centre,
- The Cedars Surgery and Woodlands Park Surgery.
Maidenhead PCN are trying to identify Military Veterans (and Military families) to ensure you are receiving the best quality of care and support from your GP practice and the wider NHS, and checking that you are aware of all the support services available to you.
This will include coding you as a Veteran on your medical records, and offering you a review with our Social Prescribing team.
