We will cancel the bus pass and destroy it securely.
If you have moved into the borough and have a bus pass from another local authority you only need to apply for a new one once your current pass expires.
There are four types of passes are issued within the Royal Borough:
- Bus passes for older people feature a blue strip down the right-hand side.
- Bus passes for disabled people feature an orange strip down the right-hand side.
- Companion bus passes for older people feature a blue strip down the right-hand side with a capital C in the top right-hand corner.
- Companion bus passes for disabled people feature an orange strip down the right-hand side with a capital C in the top right-hand corner.
There is a red rose and ribbon running across the top of the cards to represent England. You will also see the Royal Borough crest on the top right.
If your bus pass does not scan on the electronic readers on buses, the chip in your card may be faulty. Please contact us on 01628 683800.
How your information is used
Following your application for a national bus pass, further checks will be made using the information you provided to verify your eligibility.
The Royal Borough has a duty in law to administer a national bus pass scheme for qualifying residents. We will contact you if our checks indicate that you may not be eligible.
The personal details used to produce your pass will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018. Further information about data protection and your rights are available on our website and on the Information Commissioner's Office website.
