Apply for visitor vouchers and visitor permits

Parking should not commence until a valid permit is clearly displayed in the windscreen of the visitor's vehicle.

Parking should not commence until a valid permit is approved by the Council. In the meantime, your visitor should find alternative parking. Your visitor will be liable for any Penalty Charges Notices (PCNs) they receive if they do not have a valid permit - even if you have applied for one.

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead provides virtual permits to all new or renewal applications. There will no longer be any physical vouchers or permits sent. Residents will be asked to create an account and register their address in the MiPermit system. All permits can be managed, viewed, edited, and activated through the service.

Please read before applying

Vouchers and permits are only available to residents who live in a Resident Permit Area. Not all roads or properties are eligible for Visitor Vouchers / Visitor Permits.

  • Eligible residents can apply for Visitor Vouchers and Visitor Permit(s). Both types of permit  will allow visitors to park near your home. Visitor Vouchers and Visitor Permits allow visitors to park in permit holder only bays, or a shared use bay during controlled hours.
  • Vouchers and permits will be valid for a period of 12 months or until the permit holder ceases to be a resident of the property which the permit was issued to (whichever is first).
  • Please ensure that sufficient time is given to approve the application. It may take 10 working days to process your application.
  • Goods vehicles exceeding 1500 kg, business vans, lorries and buses are excluded from the scheme. Also, you cannot park trailers or caravans whether they are linked or stand alone in a Resident Permit Area. All vehicles must be able to fit into any markings of the bays or area.
  • A permit / voucher will be issued according to the Zone you live in.
  • The granting of a permit / voucher does not guarantee that a space will be available. Parking is only allowed in the Zone allocated to your permit / voucher. The permit / voucher only entitles your visitor to park in Resident Permit Holders Areas / Bays.
  • Notes on the dashboard cannot be accepted in lieu of a valid permit.
  • Visitors are not allowed to park in a Suspended parking bay. This will result in enforcement action being taken.
  • Permits / vouchers must be activated or edited upon the arrival of your visitor. - Please see under "How to Activate...".

Note

Please note that with your first application you will be asked to follow a two-step process within the MiPermit system.

Step 1 – Complete “Visitor Voucher Application” to verify residency and eligibility for Visitor Vouchers.

Step 2 – After your application is verified and approved by Parking Team, the new application tile will become available (Visitor Vouchers) within “Buy Digital Permits” section of your MiPermit account. You can then make purchases of Visitor Vouchers you require.
