Challenge your parking fine

An informal challenge can only be made prior to the Notice to Owner being issued.

Important: If you pay your penalty then you lose your right to appeal by law. No further comments or challenges will be responded to and the council will consider the matter closed.

Please allow up to 48 hours from the issue date for the penalty to appear on the system.

An informal challenge can only be made prior to the Notice to Owner being issued.

You will need:

  • The PCN Number,
  • Vehicle registration,
  • Copies of pay and display tickets - if applicable (please keep originals for your records),
  • Any other supporting evidence.

If the challenge is received within 14 days of the ticket being issued any discount applicable will be frozen until a reply is issued.

If your informal challenge is refused the council will generally offer an extended discount period for payment. However, if you still believe the penalty should not be paid you should wait for the notice to the owner and raise a formal challenge.

Chatbot Max will advise drivers with parking tickets.

Drivers wishing to query a parking ticket can live-chat with Chatbot Max to get expert advice 24/7. Chatbot Max can resolve most issues without drivers having to write in, saving everyone time and stress.
