A list of previously developed sites that are available and potentially suitable for housing development across the Royal Borough.
The Town and Country Planning (Brownfield Land Register) Regulations 2017 requires all Local Authorities to produce and regularly update a register of previously developed sites (otherwise known as Brownfield Land) within their areas that are capable of being re-developed or converted to provide housing-led development.
The purpose of the register is to provide up-to-date information on sites with specific criteria set out in the legislation that local planning authorities consider to be appropriate for residential development.
The register is kept in two parts.
Comprises a list of brownfield sites that are considered suitable for housing regardless of their planning status.
Please note: Adding a site to Part 1 of the register does not mean it will automatically be granted permission in principle.
Part 2 of the register is optional and allows us to select sites from part one and grant Permission in Principle (PiP) for housing-led development.
Please note: No sites have been included on Part 2 of the register at this time.
The Brownfield Land Register (CSV file) shows a site reference in column B. The site reference is either a site allocation in the Adopted Borough Local Plan or a planning application number.
You can view further information about Brownfield land registers on the GOV.UK website. If you wish to nominate a brownfield site, please contact the Planning Policy Team.
