Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation Assessment
In June 2018 the Council published a Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation Assessment setting out the need for Gypsy and Traveller pitches and Travelling Showpeople plots up to 2033. The Council has since commissioned consultants arc4 to update that assessment. The updated Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation Assessment has now been published and sets out the need up to 2036/37.
Traveller Land Availability Assessment
The council will also be producing a Traveller Land Availability Assessment (TLAA) in order to identify and review potential sites options.
You can submit suggestions for any site options you would like the council to consider when preparing the TLAA by completing and returning the ‘call for sites’ proforma below. You don’t need to be the landowner but you will need to provide information on who owns the land and whether they have expressed an interest in making this land available for Traveller accommodation. Sites promoted previously can be resubmitted to confirm their availability, including any appropriate additional information. You will also need to provide a plan showing the site location and boundary.
Please return the relevant documents:
- By email to: planning.policy@rbwm.gov.uk, or
- By post to: Planning Policy, The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Town Hall, St Ives Road, Maidenhead, Berkshire SL6 1RF.
Non personal data collected through the call for sites may be made available in the TLAA, which will be published on this website in due course.
Sustainability Appraisal
The emerging Traveller Plan will also be subject to a Sustainability Appraisal (SA) which is an integral part of the plan preparation process.
A Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report has been produced following consultation with statutory consultees.
