Council tax communication
The council is now sending e-mails, SMS messages and voice messages to residents who have missed a council tax payment. See our webpage for more information.
The Localism Act introduces statutory neighbourhood planning in England.
It enables communities to draw up a neighbourhood plan for their area and is intended to give communities more of a say in the development of their local area.
The council is a vanguard authority on this project, and is helping communities prepare neighbourhood plans. Funding has been secured from central government for most of the neighbourhood plan areas and government regularly makes funding available to groups directly.
Areas that are designated as a neighbourhood plan area can be viewed on the map of designated neighbourhood areas
