This donation will help the charity to continue their work in collecting good-quality second-hand clothes, equipment and furniture which are then provided to those experiencing hardship

The Mayor, Councillor Simon Bond, said: “I’d like to thank everyone who donated and attended the Charity Dinner held in December. Without your generous support, this donation wouldn’t have been possible.”

“I’m proud to have helped to raise this money for The Baby Bank, who do fantastic work supporting families and children in need.”

The next charity dinner held by The Mayor will be on Friday 28 March and will be in aid of the Mayor’s Benevolent Fund, used for charitable purposes including the relief of poverty and hardship. Applications for the fund are received via third parties such as housing associations and social workers. Tickets for the dinner will go on sale shortly.
