The draft Cookham Neighbourhood Plan, developed by local people on behalf of the Cookham Parish Council, sets out the local community’s aspirations for the area to 2038.
Neighbourhood Plans allow communities to develop a shared vision for their areas. Helping to give more control over the type, location, size, and design of development and complementing planning policies already set in the borough’s Local Plan.
The Royal Borough is now inviting comments and views on the draft plan ahead of it being reviewed by an independent examiner to ensure it meets the necessary conditions – the final step is a local referendum on the final plan.
People are able to submit their comments by 23:59 on Monday 17 February 2025 at https://rbwm-consult.objective.co.uk/kse
Councillor Adam Bermange, Cabinet Member for Planning, Governance and Asset Management, said “Neighbourhood plans are produced by communities and give them more control over the type, location, size, and design of development in their area.
“Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the process so far. We welcome your comments and views on the draft plan, and hope you take part in the consultation.”
Hard copies of the draft plan and response forms are available at Cookham Library, Maidenhead Library, Cookham Parish Office, the Jolly Farmer public house, The Little Bookshop and Cookham Station waiting room. Comments can also be emailed to planning.consultation@rbwm.gov.uk or posted to the council.
