Information and advice is available for jobseekers in the borough thanks to a partnership between the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead’s library service and the National Careers Service.
The service offers free personalised careers information, advice, guidance services, as well as webinars, to help residents make decisions about careers, courses and work. Whatever stage they’ve reached in their career, its qualified careers advisers are available to help.
Advisers can help people understand the local job market, develop or enhance their CV, and assist with interview skills.
Appointments are being held every other Friday and Tuesday at Maidenhead Library, 9.30am until 1.30pm, from this Friday (19 January).
To book an appointment, please email ncsberkshire@adviza.org.uk clearly stating you would like to see an adviser at Maidenhead Library.
Councillor Joshua Reynolds, Cabinet member for communities and leisure, said: “Our library service is again partnering with the National Careers Service as part of our employment support service available at Maidenhead Library. This popular community venue is the perfect place to host this partnership.
“Whatever stage you have reached in your career, the qualified careers advisers are here to help. They can provide practical advice and guidance on skills to help whether you’re looking for work, or seeking a career change, such as exploring your career options, searching and applying for local jobs and applying for training and online learning. The advisers can help you plan for your future and be more confident about your skills, no matter what stage you’re at in your career.
“Our partnership with the National Careers Service is part of the range of support we offer as a council for jobseekers. We also hold regular jobs fairs and are part of the East Berkshire Community Learning and Skills Service (CLaSS) which delivers online and in-person courses. This service is available at Maidenhead Library every Tuesday, 10am to 4pm.
“We’re providing our residents with the advice, guidance and skills they require to help them find work, or develop their careers and, in turn, helping to support our local economy.”
