Held on Wednesday 9 October at Windsor Racecourse, the conference saw 120 attendees from over 50 community groups. Throughout the day, sessions were held on the impact of climate change on public health, small-scale biodiversity and sustainable energy in the borough.
The Climate Partnership is funded by the council but governed with key stakeholders, including local businesses and community groups as part of the council’s commitment to achieve a cleaner, greener, safer and more prosperous borough.
Councillor Karen Davies, Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Biodiversity & Windsor Town Council and chair of The Climate Partnership, said: "We’re proud of the work we’ve done to support the environment in partnership with community groups. The conference was a great opportunity to network with partners and to reflect on what we’ve accomplished over the past year.”
“We’re committed to delivering our strategy and will continue to report back on our progress, successes and strides we’ve made to deliver change. We are also actively seeking the input of communities and businesses to help us write the updated strategy for the borough.”
Gavin Miller, Climate Partnership Steering Group member, said: “The conference was a pivotal moment in fostering collaboration and shared knowledge. I look forward to seeing the Partnership's plans unfold in alignment with key stakeholders, including expanding membership for both communities and business.”
