A walk around the perimeter of this park will contribute 1,860 steps to the advised 10,000 daily steps recommended to improve fitness.

BBQs are not permitted in any of the parks and open spaces.

Location and access details

Access to the Park is from either Courthouse Road, Ashcroft Road or Oaken Grove.

Facilities

Oaken Grove Park covers 8 hectares and is located in the built up area of north west Maidenhead. The Park caters for a wide 
range of users with its facilities for active sports and casual recreation, all within an attractive landscaped setting.

History

The area covered by the park was once part of Pinkneys Green Farm Estate which was sold for housing in the 1920's. The 
Borough of Maidenhead purchased the land in 1935 for use as a public open space. The Park is thought to be named after 
a grove of oak trees situated on the Farm Estate.

Between 1938 and 1939 the land was laid out as public open space and a sports pavilion, tennis courts and a bowling green 
and clubhouse were constructed. Maidenhead Town Bowling Club has used the green and club house since 1939.
