Are you interested in where you live or researching your family tree?

Ever wondered why Peascod street in Windsor has that name? Or when Ascot Races first started? Or when the Nicholsons Centre in Maidenhead was first built?

The local studies reference collections are held in three of our local libraries -

  • Maidenhead library (Nicholsons room, 1st floor),
  • Windsor library (1st floor)
  • Ascot library

The local studies team are available by email to help you with your enquiries and we can also arrange to meet with you by appointment in the libraries when they are open.

Do email us your questions on local history in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead at local.studies@RBWM.gov.uk or phone Maidenhead Library on - 01628 796969.

Also take a look at our Local and family history resources.
