Library volunteers are beacons in the communities our local libraries are located within. Volunteers are vital in helping libraries extend the activities on offer.
Home Library Service volunteer
Become a Home Library Service volunteer - join the team to help take books out to residents who cannot access a static library - owing to disability/illness, or because they are full time carers, or do not have personal means of transportation.
As a volunteer you will:
- Get matched with at least one housebound reader - as local as possible.
- Be able to volunteer flexibly so that it fits with other commitments.
- Enjoy chats and laughter with your reader about books, stories, life and what’s on.
- Realise the satisfaction of making a difference by helping to improve someone’s quality of life.
