Parking Suspensions
There are two types of parking bay suspension - that we can offer:
- Parking suspension for utility companies, contractors or builders.
- Parking suspension to facilitate a residential move.
Yellow suspension notices will be displayed 14 days before the start of the suspension - subject to receipt of payment.
We require a notice period of 28 days - this includes the 14 day period for the display of the notices. If the application is made less than 28 days prior to the start date, the charge will still be applicable and the yellow notices will still be displayed - however the suspension cannot be enforced.
The charge is non-refundable and any amendments will require a new application and payment.
All suspensions are at the discretion of the council.
Parking Suspension for Utility Companies, Contractors or Builders
This type of suspension will set aside a specific on-street parking bay to facilitate works that take place in the bay itself or in the adjacent to the bay - where the bay is needed for traffic management measures.
The parking bay will remain empty, unless used as above. The bay cannot be used for parking or storage.
Parking bays cannot be suspended to reserve parking for contractors, builders, visitors or to facilitate building works.
One off suspensions to facilitate concrete or steel delivery may be considered, subject to the scale and extent of the project.
