ReWorked - a chargeable door step recycling collection service

Contact ReWorked to order a mixed plastic recycling box, which will be delivered to you and collected once you have filled it (see website for prices and details of how to order).

Note this is a chargeable service.

 

Accepted items – please ensure plastic items only.

•    Plastic Christmas, Halloween & other celebration decorations, 
•    Plastic party supplies,
•    Plastic non-recyclable food packaging,

  • Hardcore and soil
  • Scrap metal
  • Motor oil
  • Paint
  • Fluorescent tubes and electrical bulbs
  • Batteries
  • Small and large electrical items

We can accept the following items but they cannot be recycled:

  • Car batteries
  • Gas cylinders
  • Chemicals
  • Asbestos
  • Bulky items such as furniture and large toys
  • Plasterboard
  • Asbestos and Artex Coated Plasterboard must be double wrapped and labelled asbestos waste. Please use a red inner bag with asbestos warnings and a clear outer bag. Alternatively wrap in suitable polythene sheeting (1000-gauge) and label accordingly. No more than three sheets (e.g.2m x 1m) or sacks of cement bonded asbestos can be taken to Stafferton Way. Avoid breaking up large pieces of asbestos waste.

If you are carrying out your own home improvements, we can accept the equivalent of one car boot load (six sacks) per trip, per month.

We cannot accept:

  • Oils
  • Clinical waste
  • Hazardous waste
  • Demolition and construction waste
  • Lithium fridges

  • Used make up products,
  • foundation bottles,
  • concealer tubes,
  • powders and blushers,
  • mascaras,
  • mascara brushes,
  • eyeliner and eyeshadow palettes,
  • lipsticks,
  • glosses and balms,
  • caps,
  • pumps,
  • sprays.

Unfortunately you can’t yet recycle makeup brushes, nail varnish or aerosols in these bins.

Please try to clean the items before disposal. The recycling is then collected by Terracycle and separated, cleaned and turned into plastic pellets to make new recycled products.
