Recent balance sheet reconciliations have uncovered that large amounts of revenue spending had been incorrectly capitalised. At the January 2025 cabinet meeting councillor Adam Bermange said this amounted to some £15 million he said this included ‘things like maintenance being capitalised’ and that ‘things that have no basis in accounting or lawful practice were being capitalised rather than expensed’.
Is anyone able to provide me a breakdown of what the incorrectly capitalised spending was spent on. EG, how much was spent on maintenance, how much on wages and salaries etc. (Please note these are examples only and not an exhaustive list.)
Can you please provide this as an Excel spreadsheet?
