Follow up Response 22 December 2023

The waste collection contract is an eight year contract with a possible eight year extension, the first eight years runs until September 2027. The fly tipping is included in the current highways contract, which ends in March 2024.

The removal of one recycling site does not have a material impact on either contract. Fly tipping is based on the number of fly tips cleared across the borough and the collection contract includes all waste, recycling, food waste and garden waste collections for all properties across the borough, bin deliveries, large item collections, the management of the Household Waste and recycling centre at Stafferton way and the waste transfer station and the haulage of all materials collected to the reprocesssors.
