It appears that many council owned properties across the UK are not in normal use, or are vacant. These are of considerable public interest as they have potential for better community use or being made available for charities and community group.
Under the Freedom of Information Act, please provide me with a copy of the following;
A list of council-owned or leased buildings and facilities which are currently vacant (ie empty) or not in normal or routine use, whether temporarily or permanently, including but not limited to community centres, resident association or community halls, social care sites, sports centres, libraries, youth clubs, childcare spaces, shops, works, depots and garages?
For each building or facility could you provide:
a. the name and postcode of each site
b. the approximate size in square metres of each site
c. the purpose for which it was most recently used
d. a description of its current or temporary use, if any (eg in property guardianship)
e. when it became unused or closed, if relevant
f. the reason it became unused or closed, if relevant
g. whether the change in usage is temporary or permanent.
h. are there any plans to reopen the space?
